PJ Trick Challenge: July

Hello July, hello SUMMER! We are here with another PJ Trick Challenge: Jamilla! We have provided different variations and entries so that all levels can participate in this one. 
Up for grabs: a £50 PJ voucher!


How to enter:


✨ You must be following @pole_junkie
✨ Please wear your PJ kit if you have one
✨ Post a photo or video of you doing the selected trick

Let’s get started!

Beginner Entry + Variation

  1. Start in a full bracket hold with your top arm placed slightly above eye level and your bottom arm placed mid-thigh height.Take a step forward with your outside leg.

  2. Using your hip flexor, lift your inside leg and push the pole into your inside hip crease. Keep the core engaged and your pelvis tucked forward.

  3. Slide your bottom hand down as you lift your outside knee towards your chest while leaning back.

  4. Extending your bottom leg and rotate your chest to the ceiling.


Option to do the progression which would be to extend your outside leg to enter a Jamilla. 


Intermediate Entry

1. Start in a full bracket hold.

2. Step forward with your inside leg.

3. Sweep your outside leg forward and squeeze your thighs together to create a pike shape with your legs.

4. Pull down with your top arm and push forward with your bottom arm as you lift your torso and push your inside hip crease into the pole.

5. Open your hips into a straddle shape and pull your legs towards your face using your hip flexors as you enter a Jamilla. 


Advanced Entry

  1. Start in a forearm climb. Climb as many times as you wish.

  2. When you are ready to enter the Jamilla, drop your bottom hand to enter a full bracket hold.

  3. Release the legs from the pole and squeeze the inner thighs together using your adductors. Engage your quad to keep both knees extended.

  4. Use your arms to push and pull as hard as you can as you lift your legs forward using your hip flexors.

  5. Push your inside hip crease into the pole.

  6. Open your hips into a straddle shape and pull your legs towards your face using your hip flexors as you enter an aerial Jamilla. 

Advanced Progression

Turn it in to a combo and add a Butterfly or an Extended Butterfly.

1. When you're in your Jamilla, bend your outside knee slightly and push the side of your calf into the pole.

2. Slide your bottom hand down as you push and pull with your arms. Simultaneously, sweep your inside leg up towards the ceiling so that you become inverted.

3. Hook the inside calf or achilles to enter your Butterfly or Extended Butterfly.
