My First Visit to Paradise Chick in Thessonaliki, Greece.

There are some suppliers you speak to so often that they feel like colleagues, even if you’ve never actually met in person. That’s exactly how it’s been with Areti from Paradise Chick.

Since the day we launched, Paradise Chick has been part of the PoleJunkie family. We’ve watched the brand evolve, launch incredible collections, and become a favourite in studios all over the world. Yet somehow, despite twelve years of emails, video calls, samples and product launches, I’d never visited their home in Thessonaliki.

That finally changed.

When people think about product development, it’s easy to imagine a few design sketches before it magically appears on our website a few months later. But it’s the process between these stages that was most fascinating.

As a retail wholesaler, I understood the various layers of work that go into producing a single piece of polewear but it’s not often I get to witness this first-hand.

Walking into Paradise Chick’s workshop was like stepping into the pages of a design journal. Tables were covered with colour swatches, shimmering fabrics, sample garments and early prototypes. Every piece sparked another conversation, “What if we tried this?”, “an inch more off the hip”, “gradients or solid shimmers?” “Why not both?” There was a buzz in the room, an infectious energy that reflected how excited and invested everyone was to make this collection perfect.

It reminded me just how much thought goes into every collection before a single customer ever sees it.

One of my favourite parts of the trip was seeing garments at different stages of development.

Some pieces were almost production-ready. Others were still being tweaked, with discussions around colours, fabric finishes and tiny design details that most people would never notice… but absolutely make the difference once you’re wearing them.

Working directly with Areti and her team comparing colour palettes side by side really highlighted how important those final decisions are. The right shade can completely transform a collection.

It’s easy to think of brands as logos and websites. Trips like this remind you they’re built by passionate people. Spending time with the Paradise Chick team, seeing how closely everyone works together, and hearing the conversations behind each collection gave me an even greater appreciation for what they create.

After working together for so many years, finally putting faces, personalities and a workspace to a partnership made it feel even more special.

Being able to visit suppliers, ask questions, share ideas and strengthen those relationships helps us make better decisions about the products we bring to you.

It’s also a reminder that behind every new launch is an enormous amount of creativity, collaboration and hard work.

And the final reason for my visit? We’ve been working on a top secret collab for the last couple of months and after 12 years, we are bringing you the first ever PoleJunkie x Paradise Chick Exclusive collection.

Being involved from the early stages made this project feel incredibly special. Seeing ideas evolve from mood boards and swatches into finished pieces gave me a whole new appreciation for the creative process. And being in Greece to sign off on the final collection was such a great experience.
