The Pole Junkie Horoscope

AQUARIUS

The Pole Dance outfit made for your star sign!

Author - Ellen Niven | Date - 12th February 2024

And just like that, we’ve made it to the final frontier...

...the last star sign of the Pole Junkie Zodiac series. We’ve uncovered a lot when it comes to the stylistic choices of each pole dancing element, but we aren’t done just yet. You might want to buckle up for this finale besties, we’re flying further afield than ever before. Between January 20th and February 21st, prepare yourselves as we get launched into Aquarius season, the season of the unknown, where nothing is to be expected and rebels rise to redefine the rules. This is the time of year to draw up your blueprints, reinvent yourself and be a pioneer. We pole dancers know a thing or two about breaking the rules of convention and aren’t afraid to push through pain to reach a goal we really want…quite often literally. Before we continue, we have to talk about the elephant in the room. No, Aquarians are not water signs, they’re actually in fact air signs. To make things even more complicated, they’re symbolised by the water bearer with a symbol that literally looks like two little waves…we know but we don’t make the rules, the stars do. The more we learn about Aquarius though, the clearer it becomes that they in fact share none of the ‘go-with-the-flow’, sentimental traits associated with care-free water signs.

Aquarius pole dancers are the experimenters of the zodiac. They’re the ones in class you’ll find intensely staring down the pole, theoretically working out the percentage ratio for success to likelihood of falling. They’ll have the most unconventional combos and unique transitions saved in their phones, determined to give each one a test run no matter the risk. We’d like to insist they use a crashmat before trying that ‘never before seen’ flip but Aquarians aren’t ones for listening to reason. Picture your eccentric high school science teacher - undoubtably hyper intelligent but also completely off their rocker. Pole dancers already defy the laws of gravity but it’s our innovative Aquarians that really push the boundaries of logic, getting themselves into shapes that on paper shouldn’t work but somehow, they do. They take a similar approach to their wardrobe. throwing together pieces that you’d never think to style. But if anyone can start a fashion revolution, leave it to an Aquarius. Read on to discover how you can align your style, colours, patterns, and accessories with the stars.

Stellar sets

Calling all space cadets! Looking for a set that’s out of this world?

HotCakes Polewear - Thetis top + Bottoms

Whether you’re in search of pieces that coordinate seamlessly or are light years apart, Planet Pole Junkie has it all. Like most air signs, Aquarians have a ‘no limit’ rule when it comes to their style and will wear just about anything so long as it isn’t ordinary. From the weird and wacky to the futuristic and high-tech, Aquarians don’t just break fashion trends, they redefine them. Live out your astronaut fantasies in the CXIX Dopamine Solo Garter top and High waist shorts, featuring a unique asymmetrical style that is guaranteed to receive compliments. It’s warped and trippy pattern will add a futuristic touch to your pole training, with a spandex and polyester fabric that is both space and swim approved.

Whilst Aquarians can style out any shade or pattern, Blue is their signature colour…(yes, another confusing tie to water). It’s also considered the colour of the future and let’s not forget the sky! Aquarians love to make a statement, so this shade of blue should be loud and vibrant! The bold and bright Araphel Royal Blue set from our restocked RAD NYX collection is sure to satisfy our colour crazed cadets. This fit combines smooth lycra with sexy soft mesh overlays, making it a fully functional feast for the eyes. If intense pops of colour or crazy patterns aren’t your style, there’s subtler ways to stand out from the crowd. Forget the clouds - Aquarius has its head in the stars and deserves a set fit for the galaxy! Be it sequins, lurex, glitter or diamonds, if it shimmers, they want it. The Lunalae Athena Top and Lure You Garter shorts in glamourous crystal black beautifully blends comfort and glamour for a dazzling training session. Why wish upon a star when you can become one?

Astral Accessories: Illuminate the night

Being the forward thinking, champions of progress, Aquarians are constantly brainstorming ways to improve day-to-day tasks.

Rolling Neon socks

Aquarians love a product that’s not only efficient but is environmentally friendly. Applying grip can sometimes be a faff, not to mention messy, so why not make your life easier with the quick and easy spray mist by Enviro Grip. This unique unscented formula is best used on the body and is perfect for adding a light dewy stick to those grip points. Not only is the bottle biodegradable but with every Enviro Mist sold, 50 cents will be donated to charity, meaning you can elevate your pole practice whilst supporting the planet.

Imagine stepping into the studio and with just a flick of the switch, your outfit transforms from something ordinary into extraordinary. Neon clothing has the power to captivate and mesmerise in even the darkest of settings and Aquarians are drawn to them like moths to a multi-coloured, illuminous flame. For a pair of socks that will truly electrify your look, slip into our best-selling Rolling Over the Knee Roller socks. Or, if you're aiming to make a lasting impression, why not try our visually impactful Alien nipple pasties by Pastease? We might have taken the extra-terrestrial theme a little too literally with this one, but can you blame us? They're not only adorable but also latex-free, water-adhesive, and yes, they even glow in the dark! Check out the other fun styles and colours our Pastease collection has to offer that are great for showcases, competitions or even just fancy dress.

Futuristic fits

There’s nothing subtle or delicate about this fixed air sign.

They pole dance the same way they live their lives, dynamically, intentionally and at full pelt. Think less a gentle breeze on a Summer’s Day and more a gust of wind that forms a tidal wave. They love moves that require momentum like arial swings, leg fans or if they’re feeling particularly brave…a fongi. For this style of training we’d recommend form fitting bodysuits and sets that still allow plenty range of motion. Loose fitting pieces have the potential to get caught whilst you’re up the pole and are more effective in slower flow style choreo than tricks. Functional fits don’t need to be plain though by any means. The Paradise Chick Frankie Bodysuit in Petrol blue is another versatile training staple, built for pole, poolside and parading round the town with a blazer and pair of jeans. Our pole dancing Aquarians will adore its bold print and innovative cut outs, with a super low back that allows you to master your favourite shoulder mount tricks. Alternatively, get galactic with our next breathable and sheer one-piece, featuring an ultra-flattering high-leg and iridescent sequins that’ll catch the light while you spin. The Rolling Vertigo Bodysuit in Midnight Sequin isn't just another piece of pole wear—it's the motherboard of seductive, high-quality attire. Crafted for those who dare to push boundaries and embrace their inner star power, it's the perfect dazzling fit for pole performances.

Now for a piece of pole wear that is the definition of innovative, cutting-edge fashion. Transformers…ASSEMBLE for the sleek and ultra-versatile Mæd Kitana Top, the transformative 4-in-1 piece designed to defying expectations. Featuring four unique parts—a basic top with adjustable straps, an asymmetric half top, and two sleeves with convenient thumb-holes—this top offer endless possibilities for styling and expression. The wardrobe staple for individualists who refuse to be confined by convention.

One small step for man…one giant strut for pole-kind

Despite all the space analogy, Aquarians pole dance style is less like floating in the atmosphere and more like a comet hurtling towards earth.

They have a need for speed, killer tricks and dynamic spins that are dangerously hot. When it comes to heels, refrain from open-toe shoes as your tootsies are likely to get squished during all those drops, heels clacks and quantum leaps. As rulers of the shins and ankles, we’d recommend a pair of supportive high-tech boots that can handle a big impact. Scorch the studio with The Hella Heels Empire Kicks in Atomic Red, with reinforced toe-boxes, soles and stitching to withstand the most brutal of heel choreos. Need a supportive and eye-catching pair of heels that can keep up? Trust us, these boots are the bomb.

Now, we’ve mentioned glitter sets, sequin drenched pieces, neon socks and glow in the dark pasties, but how else can help an Aquarius stand out in the studio? The answer – Pleaser USA’S Baby Pink Holographic Pleaser Boots! As we’ve mentioned, Aquarians have an eclectic colour palette and quite frankly we haven’t yet given Pink the spotlight it deserves. Combine this shade with a mesmerising holographic effect and you’ve got yourselves a pair of heels fit for futuristic Barbie. Featuring a lace-up front and inside zip closure, these ankle boots will not only keep everyone on their toes but will add an out of this world visual effect to your routines and showcases. (Please note, Pleaser and Hella Heels are not suitable for Moon Walking. Any attempt at the Moon Walk may result in injury and should be practiced at wearer’s own discretion.)
