EU Customs Charges Explained

As of 1 January 2021, the UK is no longer part of the European Union which means Customs fees are now payable on all goods arriving in the EU from the UK.

How are Customs charges calculated?

Customs Fee = VAT + Duty + Handling Fee

Previously, VAT was included in the RRP of each item purchased from Pole Junkie however VAT is now automatically removed at checkout for EU customers. You will instead pay this when your order arrives in the EU.

This is at the discretion of your government and may not be charged at all. From our experience, duty does not seem to be charged on orders with a value less than £150.

This is the processing fee charged by your chosen courier. Courier specific information

DHL Express: varies country to country, you can view a full breakdown here.

Global Mail: varies country to country, we are currently monitoring this to provide more accurate information.

What if I refuse to pay the customs fees for my order?

In this case, your order will be returned to us and we will process your refund. The initial cost of shipping plus a return to sender fee will be deducted from your refund total. This return fee can be up to 2 x your original shipping fee.

Please note these fees are not charged by Pole Junkie and we do not add any handling or processing fees to your order.
